From TheKCGuy
I was pointed to a article in Wine Spectator's blog about eating in Kansas City. Apparently, there's an article in the most recent print edition about the trip, too. I don't subscribe to the magazine, but I was fortunate enough to read a copy. James Laube describes his meals at many of the common local joints such as Oklahoma Joe's, Bryant's, and Extra Virgin. I couldn't really understand what he was drinking until he mentioned the pitcher of Boulevard. I did recognize the money quote from the article, though, "Oklahoma Joe's had the best food overall, followed by Jack Stack..." He goes on to describe getting some BBQ from his hosts smoker, which was apparently better than OK Joe's. That part sounded suspicious to me. Keep an eye out for the article next time you run across a copy of Wine Spectator.
